LONDON: A Chinese mobile manufacturer has developed another device that looks like the design of Apple’s flagship smartphone recently unveiled at consumer electronics show held in Las Vegas.
The perfect iPhone look-a-like uses Android OS as its platform was codenamed Gold-East MS937. Report says that the size of the bezels along the side of the screen to the gold trim looks identical to iPhone 6. Even the circular home button is an exact look alike of that of the iPhone 6 though it does not sport the same gold or silver outline on Apple’s device.
The Gold-East MS937 is currently posted in Alibaba for US$115.The iPhone clone features a 5-inch IPS screen with 1280×720 resolution. It is equipped with 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing shooter.
The smartphone is powered by 1.4GHz Mediatek, MT6592M Octa-Core processor. It is supported by 1GB of RAM plus 8GB of internal storage and uses Android KitKat 4.4.2 as its platform. Connectivity features include 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It is packed with 2000mAh battery.
Several companies that released smartphones that sport a design similar to the iPhone 6 and other iPhone versions. There are the not so famous brands that have tried to imitate Apple’s design, while there are also some major players which have been alleged to copy as well.
First on the list is Dakelele Big Cola 3, a 5-inch iPhone 6 clone powered by 64-bit, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 chipset backed-up with 3GB of RAM and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. Second is the 5.5-inch Meizu MX4, equipped with octa-core processor and an impressive display with 2560×1536 resolution.
Oppo’s R5 has also been heard to copy the design of the iPhone. The R5 was dubbed to be the world’s thinnest phone. Another device which did not only pattern its look from the iPhone 6 Plus but has also copied the “6 Plus” on its name, thus the launch of the Huawei Honor 6 Plus. Other look-alikes also include: Lenovo’s Sisley S90 and the S60, ZTE Q7 and GooPhone i6.
