NEW DELHI: Google updates Android 5.0 Lollipop to Android One devices such as Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 and Karbonn Sparkle V. Now some more details regarding the future of Android One in India have surfaced. Google has come out with a commercial on its Google India YouTube account which discloses some details.
Since the commercial portrays Androidify characters playing musical instruments and dancing on a Bollywood track, it would be a safe bet to assume that the ad has been targeted at India. The video reads, “Things just got even better”, and then goes on to add, “Android One upgrades to Lollipop 5.1.” It finishes with, “Always the latest from Google.”
This suggests that Google is working on the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Android One devices in India. Three smartphones that are part of the Android One project, and which might get the update are Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 and Karbonn Sparkle V.
