As a result of the update, Google Play Music users can now upload up to 50,000 songs for free; and subsequently stream or download the songs again later.

To take advantage of the increased free music storage capacity on the cloud, interested users have to go simply to the Google Music page and sign up. They have to then install the small program which uploads their songs to Google’s servers — all for free.

However, for users who want to stream the songs which they do not own, the Google Play Music service has a $10-per-month subscription option. Users who opt-in to the Google Play Music subscription service when signing up for free music storage can also avail the benefit of on-demand access to millions of songs, similar to the Spotify or Beats Music service.
