Announcing the update to Google Play Music, Google said that while the service previously allowed users to upload up to 20,000 songs in the cloud for free, the storage limit has now been increased to 50,000 songs.
As a result of the update, Google Play Music users can now upload up to 50,000 songs for free; and subsequently stream or download the songs again later.

Users who opt-in to the Google Play Music subscription service when signing up for free music storage can also avail the benefit of on-demand access to millions of songs, similar to the Spotify or Beats Music service.
