NEW YORK: Google has announced six new Android apps that will work with the ChromeOS setup. The six apps released are Dormi, Waves, Slice, Yo, Slideshare and Tapatalk.
The apps are varied lot in terms of function:
Dormi: The baby monitor for the smartphone age. Includes all standard features of an audio hardware baby monitor and some surprising extras.
Waves: Chromatic tuner app, measuring sound pitch using your computer’s microphone, letting you tune any musical instrument (violin, viola, violoncello, bass, guitar, ukulele, piano, brass, other wind instruments).
Slice: As featured 3 times on NBC’s The Today Show, Slice is your smart shopping assistant, with a brand new design that delivers new ways for you to save time and money!
Yo: The simplest & most efficient communication tool in the world. Yo is a single-tap zero character communication tool.
Slideshare: Boost your knowledge anytime, anywhere with the official SlideShare app. Explore over 15 million presentations, videos and infographics in stunning, full-screen layout. No time to read now? Save favorites to read later – even offline!
Tapatalk: Tapatalk connects you to people who share your own passions and interests. Millions of members are online now, sharing their expert opinions with others who can truly appreciate them.
To install them users will need the Android Runtime for Chrome (ARC) which enables Android apps to run on ChromeOS, but if its user’s first time running an Android app on Chrome it will automatically install.
Interested users can grab these apps, and all the rest of the ARC compatible apps on the Chrome Web Store, where Google has finally made a category to list them all.
