NEW YORK: Google has updated its maps with a traffic alerts feature that brings explanations as to why various routes will be faster. According to TechCrunch, the traffic alerts feature also tells the users about alerts for a blockage or traffic jam up ahead along with alternate routes to each destination.
Google Maps also tells the users about how long they will have to wait if they stay on a path where a traffic jam has popped up.
Google also used last year’s data to determine the most popular getaway spots for big hubs like San Francisco and New York.
