LAHORE: The governing body of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and its subordinate agencies including Wasa and Tepa has okayed their annual budget of Rs45 billion for financial year 2015-16.
According to the budget, total resources of LDA, WASA and TEPA have been estimated as Rs 45.5132 billion out of which Rs 33.4862 billion have been earmarked for the development works. LDA Vice Chairman Kh Ahmad Hassan chaired the meeting which was attended by officers as well as members of the provincial assembly. Total resources of LDA (UD Wing) during the fiscal year 2015-16 have been estimated at Rs 29.0638 billion against the expected expenditures of Rs 28.8696 billion. This amount will also include development expenditure of Rs 26.3996 billion.
Rs 10 billion for Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project of the Punjab Government are also included in it. An amount of Rs 6.26 billion has been allocated through LDA’s own sources for carrying out development works in LDA housing Schemes. Restoration of LDA Plaza located at Egerton Road, up to 6th floor, will be undertaken with an expenditure of Rs 259 million. Construction of LDA office buildings at Johar Town and Sheikupura will cost Rs 95 million. A total of Rs 5.15 billion have been allocated for kicking off new projects in the provincial metropolis including.
According to the WASA budget, it is excepting total receipts of Rs 13.79 billion in the financial year 2015-16 while it will spend Rs.13.93 billion including Rs 5.1482 billion for development schemes. Catering to miscellaneous sewerage & drainage requirements in different Towns of Lahore will cost Rs 145 million. Restoration of Original Cross Section of 40 feet of Satto Katla Drain from Ferozepur Road to PECO Road, Lahore will cost Rs 115 million.
