Governor Sardar Mehtab hails KP Women Chamber of Commerce for promoting economic activities

PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan, while appreciating the contribution of Women Chamber of Commerce Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in promoting economic activities, has said that the chamber could play more efficient role in encouraging business and trade activities in this region.

He was talking to representative delegation of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who called on him under the leadership of its president, Nasira Lughmani here at Governor’s House, Peshawar.

Governor further stated that more efforts would be made to promote women entrepreneurship in the province and FATA so that they can play their due role in economic development and trade in this region.

He said, keeping in view the visible improvement in law and order situation and restoration of peace, the possibilities for bringing further improvement in economy also very much exist.

Such a situation, he added, will indeed be of great help for the chamber too in further spreading its role and services to encourage entrepreneurship on part of its members. He particularly wished the chamber to play more efficient role in encouraging business and trade activities in FATA and said that not only sufficient possibilities exist in this respect but they will also find positive response and support on part of the government too.

Talking on various points, the governor appreciated the conduct of skill development training programs under the aegis of the chamber and assured its office bearers every possible support on part of the government in further cementing its role and contribution in this respect.

Earlier, the newly elected office bearers of the chamber as well as members of its executive committee were introduced to the Governor, who congratulated them on their success. The delegation was also comprised of Dr Mussarat Khalid, vice president, Jamila Gillani, executive member, Nuzhat Rauf, executive member, Nasim Akhtar, executive member, Ambreen Sohail, executive member, Rukhsana Nadir, member, Wajiha Lughmani, member, Syeda Begum, Member.
