KARACHI: The traders of the famous market Tariq Road have resumed their activities after the Governor Sindh Imran Ismail promised them to raise the issue with Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi.
According to the details, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail over the looming crisis and protest of the Tariq Road traders played vital role in defusing the situation which escalated on the night of Sunday when Pakistan Customs team conducted a raid on their business places and claimed to have recovered huge quantity of smuggled cloth.
The traders was on the point that Customs officers took 2,10,000 meters of cloths which was legally bought and started the protest over which Governor Sindh Imran Ismail called the traders at the Governor House to listen their concern.
During the meeting with the traders the Governor Imran Ismail assured the all the genuine problems as well as the concern will be address as he will be directly taking up the issue with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi as soon as possible.
Governor Sindh further stated that here on 22 January a meeting of Customs Standing Committee has been called during which all the happening will be informed and the traders will also be called in the meeting.
