ISLAMABAD: The government has announced not to impose tax on export of Halal meat through Gwadar port.
Federal Minister for Ports & Shipping Senator Kamran Michael, in a statement, said that the government is encouraging the investors and exporters for ‘Halal Meat Industry’ as there is huge demand of Halal meat in international market.
Michael said that government has exempted the investors and industrialists from all kind of import and export taxes, adding that exporters who may get clearance from export bureau and launch their Halal Meat Industry till 2016, they will be exempted from taxes for next four years.
Michael has said that Central Asian States are earning $3 trillion only through Halal meat sector while Pakistan earns least from this sector but present Government is the first one to pay heed towards this.
Federal Minister has stated that the lives of local fishermen will be changed with the commercial exports of fish from Gwadar port. Michael remarked that for the first time, Baloch would be benefiting directly through this export.
