KARACHI: According to sources of the Federal Board of Revenue, the government is considering increasing duty on consumable items such as cooking oil, cold drinks, sugar, ghee etc. This increase will led to enhancement of prices.
Sources further revealed that now there is 9 percent increase in cold drinks duty while government is considering enhancing it to 16 percent while 17 percent sales tax on sugar may be withdrawn. Sources said that the FBR has recommended the government to increase prices of cooking oil from Rs 1 to Rs 2 per liter
