Govt decides to release Rs200bn Sukuk bonds again

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Saturday decided to issue Rs200 billion Sukuk bonds for the second time to pay the dues of circular debt in energy sector.

According to media, the amount of Islamic Sukuk bonds will be spent to pay the circular debt of energy sector. The Ministry of Finance has convened a meeting of banks on issuance of Sukuk bonds on July 29.
