The meeting – to be also attended by provincial authorities – will give final approval to the budget targets and discuss the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

It is expected that the size of federal development programme [PSDP] is expected to be around Rs700 billion; however, the prime minister may increase it to the tune of Rs1,000 billion.

The ministry says the total volume of the budget would be over Rs14,600 billion and committees have been formed for working on how to provide relief to the masses.

The projected rise in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the level of over 3 per cent follows a growth of 0.29 per cent in the current financial year.
