Govt gave tax holiday from July 2015 to June 2018 to attract investors: Jhagra

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that for attracting new investment and generating employment opportunities in KP and Fata, the federal government has announced tax holiday for new investment in the whole of the province from July 2015 to June 2018.

Thus, in view of its rich natural resources and hardworking labour force, these incentives will accelerate the pace of development in the Province.

While addressing the concluding session of the “Made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” exhibition, arranged by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry at a local hotel in Islamabad, the governor said that security, law and order situation in the province has been restored.

The governor said that he was impressed by the courage and commitment of the entrepreneurs from the province who despite their hardships and difficult conditions continued to manufacture such a quality products. The governor said that all those who have showcased the products of their respective industrial units are rendering a great service not only to the people of the province but for the nation as well. The governor also called upon foreign investors to come forward and invest in KP and Fata.

The governor admitted that it is a better reality that economy of KP had severely suffered because of the natural calamities. The infrastructure was destroyed and the people displaced in millions but the entrepreneurs deserve tributes for surviving through all the hostile circumstances. This initiative on part of the organisers will lead to restore the job opportunities of the millions of our skilled and non-skilled workers.

The governor said that in the backdrop of these ground realities, holding of “Made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Exhibition” would bring a pleasant impact on the overall investment climate of the province and therefore, proposed that such exhibitions should be organized throughout all big cities of the country and assured his full support to the organisers in this regard.

Earlier, the governor visited each and every stall at the exhibition, inquired after the background to the products so displayed and listens to the problems and suggestions of the entrepreneurs.
