Govt importing 4,000MW electricity from China to end energy crisis till 2018: Kh Asif

SIALKOT: The prevailing energy crisis in the country will be overcome till 2018 as the government is going to import 4,000 megawatts electricity from China.

This was stated by Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, while addressing the party workers at his residence in Sialkot Cantt. He said that the projects of Sialkot-Lahore Expressway and Engineering and Technology University here are significant for development of the region, adding that the government was taking keen interest in making Sialkot an international city.

The minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had won the hearts of the people of Sialkot by announcing the mega projects. He said that Sialkot-Lahore Expressway would be completed in a stipulated period of three years.

Federal Minister added that He said that the government was fulfilling its all the political promises by executing several mega projects of socio-economic development and social welfare oriented projects in Sialkot, making Sialkot a model district of the country.

He said that the political and social deprivations of the people were now being ended as smooth provision of all the basic facilities to the people were being ensured at their doorsteps.

Meanwhile, addressing a delegation of the local traders and industrialists, he said that the government’s economic agenda was aimed to boost the national economy by removing all the hurdles from the smooth way of trade development and promotion of exports. He added that economic agenda was helping put the country on the highway to economic stability.

He said that the government was fully aware of the prolonged problems of the business community and making efforts for their solution. He said that the government was also strengthening national economy and boosting the industrial structure.
