During the session, the Prime Minister directed authorities to engage globally renowned third-party firms for the validation of reforms being implemented in the FBR.

He emphasized that following a historic national mandate, the government is resolute in its mission to transform Pakistan into a stable and thriving global economy through sustainable institutional reforms.

“All institutions are undergoing rapid structural reforms. The Government of Pakistan is working tirelessly to eliminate corruption and enhance transparency,” the Prime Minister said. He further added that the recent positive economic indicators are a clear reflection of the government’s policy direction.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the recent performance of the faceless customs assessment system, an initiative aimed at ensuring transparency in the customs process. “Reforms like the faceless customs assessment system are yielding promising results. Insha’Allah, we will succeed in our mission to make Pakistan economically strong,” he stated.

Officials briefed the Prime Minister on the system’s impact, noting a significant increase in overall revenue and a considerable reduction in customs clearance time since its implementation.

The briefing also covered ongoing reforms within the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL). Authorities confirmed that the digital tax return system for general taxpayers is in its final stages of development. Additionally, efforts are underway to introduce this system in Urdu and other local languages to ensure ease of use for all citizens.

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Chairman FBR, and senior officials from relevant institutions were present at the meeting.
