Govt making all-out efforts for progress, prosperity of AJK: Barjees

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir Sunday said the government was taking revolutionary steps for the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Pakistan would continue to support the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at every forum politically, diplomatically and ethically, he said in a statement.

The minister condemned the Indian oppression on the innocent and defenseless people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). He said Kashmir was an unfinished agenda of the partition of Sub-continent and that of the United Nations (UN) and Pakistan remained committed for its peaceful settlement through negotiation and dialogue.

Barjees said the federal government was taking keen interest in the development of different sectors of AJK like health, education, tourism and infrastructure. It was implementing the manifesto of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and working affectively for the progress and development of the area, he added.
