LAHORE: Mini-dams are lifeline for agriculture in Potohar region, said Provincial Minister for Agriculture Dr. Farrukh Javed. He said that government is planning to construct 5000 mini-dams in the region and it will prove to be a green revolution in the region.
He said that this region will be the hub of olive and grapes orchards in near future due to natural climate and environment. Farmers are earning huge profits in the region.
He said that through the increase in our own production we can save 3 billion dollars that are spent on the import of edible oil yearly.
He said that agriculture department is providing up to 60 percent subsidy to farmers in installing drip irrigation system in the region.
