BAJAUR: Additional Political Agent Bajaur Agency Muhammad Ali Khan on Tuesday said the federal government is determined to promote trade and business activities in the tribal areas and every effort was being made to this effect.
This he said while addressing at the oath taking ceremony of newly-elected office-bearers of Khar Traders Union Association here Tuesday, which was attended by large number of tribal elders, traders and activists of various political and religious parties. Senior officials of the local administration including Assistant political agent Anwarul Haq was also present on the occasion.
The local administration with the financial support of federal government has planned to provide basic and modern facilities to the trader centers and bazaars across the agency.
He announced several schemes and projects for Khar Bazaar, including 10 water filtration plants, 5 solar based drinking water schemes, installation of solar based street lights and public waiting rooms in different bus stands. Trade and business community are playing vital role in socio-economic stability of the agency.
He asked the newly-elected office bearers to work for the promotion of trade and business activities in the agency. Former Member National Assembly Syed Akhunzada Chattan, President Khar Traders Association Haji Khan Bahadar and several others addressed the event Later, the additional political agent took oath from the newly members of Khar Traders Association.
