The government should provide them facilities and incentives and free them from the burden of unnecessary taxes so that they can play their vital role in the development of the country.

Talking to the business delegation, Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, Senior Vice President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Senior Vice Chairman, Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front, said that Pakistan’s budget for the next financial year should be tax free.

The government should refrain from imposing new taxes and duties under an agreement with the IMF, otherwise trade and industry will suffer. He said that the situation created by Karuna has already caused huge damage to Pakistani trade and industry and now it is no longer able to bear the loss and burden.

He said that a trade convention would be held soon under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in which the budget for the next financial year would be discussed. He said that the government should include the suggestions of traders in the federal budget as business friendly budget is the need of the hour.

He urged the government to take all measures related to trade and industry with confidence in the business community which would benefit the country’s economy. He also urged the Federal Board of Revenue to be friendly with traders.
