Govt slashes petrol price by Rs10.20 per litre

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif slashed the petroleum prices by up to Rs10.20 per litre for the next fortnight.

According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister Office, the premier decreased the petrol price by Rs10.20 per litre and diesel by Rs2.33 per litre.

On June 1, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs4.74 per litre and diesel by Rs3.86 per litre.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, a total relief of Rs35 per litre in petrol prices has been provided to the public so far.

Information Minister Atta Tarar announced that the new prices for petrol and diesel would take effect from June 15.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a historic step to boost industry and exports by reducing the electricity price for industries by Rs10.69 per unit. The electricity price for the industrial and export sectors has been set at Rs34.99 per unit.
