Govt striving to provide relief to masses: Mujtaba

LAHORE: The government has started a socio-economic welfare-oriented programme with a cost of billions of rupees to provide relief to the masses.

Minister for Finance, Excise & Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a reception hosted by Khawaja Farooq Hussain at Javed Park Shadbagh. Muneeb Tufail, Rehmat Ali, Abdul Rehman and Malik Khalid also addressed the reception.

Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman said that 70 percent population live in rural areas, therefore, the government is upgrading the infrastructure of basic health centres for provision of modern health facilities to the people at grassroots level.

Mian Mujtaba said that poverty and unemployment can be minimized through empowerment of women in economic field and the government would provide financial assistance through banks and other financial institutions in this regard.
