Govt to hike prices of petroleum products from July 1

ISLAMABAD: The federal government may increase prices of petroleum products by about 5.5 per cent from July 1 after upward trend in petroleum prices in international market.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has sent a summery, suggesting increase in the petroleum prices, to the petroleum ministry. According to the summery, HOBC prices are likely to go up by Rs7.30 per litre, or 8.7%, to Rs91.11 per litre in July. However, High speed diesel (HSD) prices are likely to come down in the next month by Rs0.60, or 0.7%, to Rs86.52 per litre. Similarly, the price of light diesel oil (LDO) will decline negligibly by Rs0.08 per litre, or 0.1%, to Rs61.43 per litre.
