ISLAMABAD: The government is in talks with Italy and France to import of 6 million tonne liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually.
Sources said that the government was in talks with Italian ENI and a French company in the matter to import LNG, which will not cost more than 13.37 percent of brent oil’s price. It is pertinent to mention that Qatar is exporting 300 million cubic ft LNG per day to Pakistan.
Central Asia-South Asia-1000 project, also known as CASA-1000 was inaugurated in this regard by Nawaz Sharif among leaders of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan earlier this month.
