Govt to spend amount of Rs469b on development projects

ISLAMABAD:  The government will spend an amount of Rs469 billion on projects aiming at modernizing infrastructure for accelerating growth.

An amount of 228,767.54 million rupees have been earmarked for energy sector projects during current fiscal year while 90.313 billion is allocated for water sector projects.

The government has allocated 14,000 million rupees funds to ensure efficient implementation of “Ten Billion Trees Tsunami Programme-Phase-I” as the government is also committed to equip the local communities with knowledge and technology for Disaster Risk Management.

Modern, efficient and connected transport infrastructure networks are positively associated with development and rapid growth. For transport and logistics sector, Rs 173.8 billion were allocated during last fiscal year, of which Rs 127.6 billion have been utilized.

An amount of 302 billion (74 percent higher) has been earmarked for the development programme of the transport and logistics in 2021-22 budget.
