Govt to spend Rs.3 billion on new Gwadar International Airport

ISLAMABAD: The government will spend Rs 3 billion during the next fiscal year 2015-16 to construct new Gwadar International Airport, Minister for Finance and Revenue, Ishaq Dar said.

In his budget speech for 2015-16 in National Assembly here on Friday, he said keeping in view the significant role of Gwadar for economic growth of the country, the government has taken the development of this area very seriously.

He said accordingly, allocations were being made for a host of development projects and added that provision of Rs.2 billion has been made for Gwadar Development Authority.

For necessary facilities of water treatment and supply, the government was making a substantial allocation of Rs.3 billion.
