Govt to spend Rs 3 billion on patwaris’ welfare: DCO Multan

MULTAN: Multan District Coordination Officer Zahid Saleem Gondal has said that the Punjab government will spend Rs 3 billion on the welfare of patwaris.

Addressing a meeting of the Patwaris Association, the Multan DCO told Customs Today that the Punjab chief minister has accepted patwaris demands and their job scale will be upgraded . They will also be provided patwari allowance, he said.

Zahid Saleem Gondal said that Patwari’s will also be provided with new motor bikes to perform their duties with full commitment in field. All Patwari,s must ensure their cooperation in the digital computerization of land revenue record now he added.

Patwari,s are the vital constituent of the District Government and administration cannot rule without them and the purpose of land computerization is not to make any Patwari or revenue employee jobless  he believed. The purpose of land revenue computerization is to take Multan Division forward in the ranks of all Divisions in terms of development and prosperity so Patwari,s will also contribute their share in progress he added.

Additional Collector District Multan Muntazir Javed and four other District Assistant Collectors of Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran and Multan were also present, Government have restored the suspended Patwari’s on their previous positions.

Earlier Patwari’ s strike and protest resulted in loss of 10 million Rs to City Government of Multan in terms of property transfer and sale purchase. General Secretary Patwari Association Punjab Zahid Afzal announced the termination of their strike from last three days and ensured that all patwari’s will work together with the Government for the advancement of nation.
