LAHORE: Punjab government has announced to spend Rs 1.56 billion on the improvement and provision of emergency services to public during current fiscal year 2015-16.
Official sources told APP on Wednesday that of total allocation made in the provincial budget 2015-16, Rs 978 million will be utilized for accomplishment of 13 out of 15 on-going schemes of emergency services while Rs 5.21 million are for rest of the three schemes in the province.
They said Rs 110 million were being spent on under construction Emergency Services Academy in Lahore, while Rs. 292 million has been allocated for capacity building for managing emergencies in high rise buildings.
The Punjab government has allocated Rs 39 million for missing facilities for emergency services while an amount of Rs 434 million is for expansion of emergency services to 34 tehsils of the province.
