Govt to spend Rs150 billion for improving rural roads network

MULTAN: Provincial Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed said on Saturday that CM Punjab’s Farm-to-Market roads programme would surely improve agricultural economy in rural areas and for this purpose, the Punjab government would spend Rs 150 billion in three years.

Talking to a farmers’ delegation here, he said that rural roads programme would facilitate farmers, traders, students, and patients to move towards cities.

He claimed the Punjab province would enter into an era of immense economic uplift due to improved communication network. He stated that huge amounts were being spent first time in the province’s history.

About wheat procurement, the provincial minister also stated the government was purchasing wheat on merit basis. He maintained that farmers uplift was top agenda of the government. Farrukh added that roads network programme would bring revolution in lives of masses across the province.
