KARACHI: The government is considering ferry service for the pilgrims, who want to visit Iran and Iraq from Karachi.
It was revealed during a meeting under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael at the PNSC office. The meeting was also told that plans were also afoot to start a fast ferry cargo service from Pakistan to UAE.
The minister, inviting the private sector to participate in such ventures, said that the government was keen to start the ferry service for pilgrims as a national cause. Being cheaper than air travel, it is the best alternative route for people visiting holy places in Iran and Iraq.
