Govt, traders to hold talks on WHT issue today

ISLAMABAD: The special committee formed by the federal government on withholding tax issue will hold negotiations with traders representatives today.

Sources told Customs Today that these talks will be held in the FBR headquarters at 3pm. Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Special Adivisor to Prime Miniser on Revenue Haroon Akhtar, Chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad Khan, Member Inland Revenue Policy Rehmat Ullah Khan, Member Strategic Planning and Reforms Dr Iqbal, Member FATE Nadeem Dar and member of the National Assembly Mian Abdul Mannan will participate in the meeting.

While from traders community, president of the All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran Ajmal Baloch and Naeem Mir will take part in the meeting. Sources said that talks will be focussed on withholding tax, sales tax and limitation of amount. Sources also said that there a minor chances that some positive developments in this regard, but there are some positive signs that some progress will be achieved through these negotiations.
