Govt urged to evolve strategy for exploring int’l market for furniture export

LAHORE: Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq said there is a need to chalk out a comprehensive strategy to explore export opportunities for Pakistan-made furniture as it has a lot of demand in international market.

Chairing a meeting with a delegation of furniture exporters hailing from the Sindh province at PFC head office, Mian Kashif appreciated the role of Sindh furniture exporters who are playing their significant role in expanding the volume of furniture export. He said that the current volume of furniture export was very nominal but a beginning had been made, and with aggressive marketing strategies the export volume could be doubled in a short span of time.

He said that the PFC successfully held its 3-day mega 8th Interiors Pakistan exhibition in Karachi expo Center in which a large number of woodwork companies belonging to Karachi and Sindh participated in this magnificent event and displayed their products which got public acclaim.

He further said PFC upcoming 9th 3-day mega “Interiors Pakistan” will be held in December at Expo Center Lahore which will help boosting the local furniture business inside and outside the country.
