Govt wants domestic oil refineries to upgrade themselves: Tarin

ISLAMABAD:  Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has said that government wants the domestic oil refineries to upgrade themselves at par with the international standards.

Chairing a meeting to review progress on Draft Pakistan Oil Refining Policy 2021 in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan is very keen about progress in all sectors of the economy for sustainable growth.

He said energy sector is very crucial to keep the cycle of economy moving with ever growing momentum and the government is willing to extend all possible support to it.

The representatives of oil refineries said the entire oil refinery sector is ready to upgrade to international standards and a complete framework is ready in this regard.

The finance minister directed the participants to work jointly to overcome all the hurdles in the formulation of new Oil Refining Policy 2021.
