The reform agenda is ongoing and being developed in consultation with the stakeholders. He said that short term measures are for current financial year, medium term for three years and long term  steps are a perspective plan.

In this regard, major reforms are being contemplated i.e. activation of policy board and constitution of Tax Reforms Commission. He said cost-benefit analysis would be an integral part of the reform agenda.

The year-wise benefit would be in the form of enhanced tax collection and taxpayers’ satisfaction. He said that this time nothing would be on paper and everything will go on practically. “People will feel the change. We will broad the tax base and try to divide the burden of taxes through bringing the new taxpayers in tax net. In this regard government will use information technology as effective tool,” he added.
