LAHORE: General Post Office (GPO) customs export section found during investigations that son involved his 85 year old father in heroin smuggling case. Customs has seized 1,200 grams of pure heroin in postal parcels. The alleged smugglers, Bashir Ahmad and his son Tanveer Ahmad, residents of Qaboola, Tehsil Arifwala, attempted to smuggle it to UK and the Netherlands.
The parcel weighing 6,600 gram containing 16 ladies suits was sent to GPO Lahore from GPO Sahiwal. The heroin worth Rs 2, 40,000 was packed in the suits that revealed in the laboratory report. The parcel had the address of Saad Rafique, Green Lane; post code No B95QQ, Barghingham, UK.
In the second case, GPO customs export section seized 400 grams of pure heroin hidden in ladies suits.
