‘Grand Theft Auto V’ graphical quality lowers after 1.08 update: Rockstar Games releases patch to fix

LONDON: The graphical quality of the open-world game “Grand Theft Auto V” on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One has lowered. Developer Rockstar Games has noticed it and will be addressing the situation by releasing a patch that is currently being developed.

Rockstar Games brought up the issue on one of the company’s support websites. The graphical quality of the current-gen version of the game seems to have lowered after the 1.08 update was installed in the console, which the company is investigating and is hoping to fix as soon as possible.

Gamespot notes that this does not appear to be a problem for owners who have last-gen versions of the hit title, so it appears that gamers with a PlayStation 3 or an Xbox 360 can continue having online heists without graphical worries. Rockstar has also offered to email updates to people experiencing the graphical problems if they subscribe to the company’s support site. This way, when the eventual “GTA V” 1.09 updates replaces the “GTA V” 1.08 updates, fans will know right away.

A four-minute video was posted on YouTube that shows a side-by-side comparison of the graphical qualities seen in the current 1.08 patch and the original version of the game before the update was released. The video can be seen below for those curious about how different the game looks with the new update.

This hasn’t been the only issue that fans of “GTA V” have experienced. When the much-hyped online heists debuted, many online users were unable to access them right away. Thankfully for fans of the game, the online heists issue has been fixed and players are free to enjoy them.

Ever since the title was released, “Grand Theft Auto V’ was an instant success, breaking sales records and garnering acclaim from fans and critics alike. While these issues are troubling, to say the least, the developer of the game is currently trying to find a way to fix these issues through a future patch, though the release date for this patch is currently unknown.
