An alleged cocaine kingpin from Britain has been arrested in Greece, it has been reported.
Simon Dutton, 39, was reportedly arrested in Thessaloniki on a European arrest warrant for for drug trafficking and participation in a multimember criminal organisation.
Dutton, from Bolton, is said to be linked to the importation of cocaine from Spain into the UK and distributing throughout the North West.
He is wanted following a joint operation between Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).
Seventeen people have been convicted as a result of the operation so far, with terms of imprisonment totalling in excess of 170 years and with cocaine to a value in excess of £1,600,000 taken off the streets.
Makthes reports he used 98 different identities to escape arrest in several European countries.
His profile on the National Crime Agency’s website describes him as dangerous and considered violent.
It adds: “Dutton is wanted in relation to the importation of cocaine from Spain into the UK and its subsequent distribution in the North West of England.
“The operation to target this criminality has seen 17 people convicted and sentenced to terms of imprisonment totalling in excess of 170 years; and cocaine with a street value in excess of £1,600,000 seized.
“Dutton has blue eyes. He also has a scar on his right side of his chin, scar on left hand and scar on right leg.
“Tattoo on right arm with the word ‘Rachel’. Tattoo running along inside left forearm.”
