ATHENS: Iran, South Korea and the central African region are the three new target markets for Greek exports on which Enterprise Greece, the state authority for the promotion of investment and international trade, has set its sights in its bid to boost Greek trade with foreign partners.

The three markets are currently enjoying growth and can offer major prospects for Greek firms particularly in the sectors of construction materials and food.

Referring to Iran in particular, Enterprise Greece chief executive Velissarios Dotsis said that besides the publicly known cooperation with Greece on oil, there is scope for expansion for Greek companies in the domains of construction materials, food and technology, as Tehran is about to proceed with upgrading its networks.

It is quite likely that another business mission to Iran will take place in the second half of 2016, with the participation of enterprises from various sectors. This year Greece will also participate for the first time in the construction material exhibition named “Project Iran 2016” with a national kiosk and 13 enterprises.

Greece will also have its own kiosk in the “Big 5 Construct Africa 2016” and the “Big 5 Show Dubai” exhibitions.
