ATHENS: Diana Shipping has announced a couple of charter deals. It has chartered out a panamax bulker to Cargill for $6,800 day minus a 4.75% commission. The Naias (73,546 dwt; built 2006) will go on charter to Cargill for between 10 to 13 months.
Also, Diana has chartered another panamax bulker to Denmark’s Norden for 11 to 14 months. The Thetis (73,546 dwt; built 2006) has been fixed at $7,000 a day, minus a 5% commission. Both ship deals should generate $4.35m in gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
Diana’s fleet currently consists of 41 dry bulk vessels equating to 4.7m dwt with one more capesize due to deliver next month as well as a kamsarmax and two newcastlemaxes set to deliver next year.
