Gujranwala Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled red chilli

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Gujranwala, has confiscated Indian origin red chilli worth Rs 100,000 during an action.

Customs Intelligence Superintendent Muhammad Akmal deputed Intelligence Officer Mian Muhammad Yousef with other officials on GT Road to foil the smuggling bids.

The inspector along with his team started checking of vehicles on the road near Dhonkal at Wazirabad Chowk. Meanwhile, the team intercepted a van and recovered gunny bags of Indian origin red chilli worth Rs 100,000.

The team asked driver, Raza, to produce documents regarding the legal import of the items but he remained failed to do the same; therefore the officials confiscated the red chilli under the customs laws.
