Gujranwala Excise challans 432 vehicles, impounds another 202

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has challanned 432 vehicles and impounded another 202 token tax defaulter vehicles. These vehicles were impounded from Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala.

Regional Director Excise and Taxation Rao  Shakeel-Ur-Rehman said that the Excise and Taxation Department teams set up special check posts at all the main entry and exit points in the region. The teams checked total 4,233 vehicles, challanned 432 vehicles and impounded 202.

As per details, he said that Excise and Taxation challanned 58 vehicles and impounded 70 vehicles in Sialkot district, challanned 254 vehicles and impounded 52 vehicles in Gujranwala district, challanned 57 vehicles and impounded 8 vehicles in Gujrat district, challaned 19 vehicles and impounded 45 vehicles in Hafizabad, challanned 56 vehicles and impounded 39 vehicles in Mandi Bahauddin and challanned 21 vehicles and impounded 18 different vehicles in Narowal district.

Rao further stated that the impounded vehicles had been the defaulters of Rs 1.5 million and these vehicles would be released when their owners will pay dues with fine.
