Gujranwala Excise collects Rs 1.28 billion in 9 months with shortfall of Rs 660 million

SIALKOT: Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala collected Rs 1.28 billion during three quarters (July-March) of current fiscal year 2014-15 against the set target of Rs 1.94 billion.

According to available statistics, E&T Gujranwala could not achieve the set target with the shortfall of Rs 660 million.

Talking to Customs Today Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala Director said that department has collected revenue in wake of property tax, motor registration fee, token tax, professional tax, entertainment tax and in term of excise duty.

He informed that excise has also impounded ten luxury vehicles on non-payment of token tax, adding that the action remained continue against the tax defaulters. He said that all teams of excise have been directed to expedite the performance to achieve the target of current fiscal year.
