Gujranwala Excise launches crackdown against property tax defaulters

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation (ET) Department has initiated a massive crackdown against property tax defaulters in the region.

A senior official of the excise told Customs Today that the department was taking special interest in recovery of property tax, as it is the largest source of revenue for the Punjab Excise.

He added that special instructions have been sent to the regional officers to improve their recoveries and achieve a minimum of 80 percent target within current month. The excise teams will seal the properties from now on and no relaxation will be given to the defaulters.

Meanwhile, the Gujranwala has sealed 58 properties in Peoples Colony, Sialkot Road,Qila Deedar Sing, Ali Pur. The officials said that the crackdown will also be continued against the defaulters of professional, education, entertainment, property and motor vehicle tax.
