Gujranwala Excise to take action against property tax defaulters

SIALKOT: Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala has made strategy to recover Rs 50 million in the wake of property tax from defaulters.

Director Excise and Taxation of Gujranwala Region Rao Shakeel Ur Rehman announced this plan in a meeting which was held recently. He said that excise department will collect property tax from owners under Rental Act 1958. The excise has issued notices to 2500 tax evaders.

Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Sialkot Iftikhar Kahut told Customs Today that excise department will collect property and other departmental taxes from owners who are involved in tax evasion. He informed that excise depart will take strict action against defaulters. He told that government already instructed the tax authorities to use all resources to recover outstanding tax amount from defaulters who are avoiding to pay taxes wilfully after ignoring all notices.
