Gujranwala FIA arrests human traffickers and recovers Rs.220m in 2016

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) strongly suppressed human trafficking in Gujranwala division including Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts in the year 2016.

According to details, FIA arrested 952 human traffickers which includes 8 most wanted mentioned in FIA’s Red Book, 80 notorious proclaimed offenders, 46 court absconders during FIA’s vigorous crackdown launched against the human traffickers and their facilitators during the year 2016 in Gujranwala division.

Divisional Deputy Director FIA Khalid Anees, told Customs Today that the FIA also recovered Rs.220million extorted money along with 200 Pakistani passports, fake visa copies, tickets, fake stamps , computers, laptops and other travelling documents of different embassies, embossing machines and other related material from these accused. Sources said that after completing necessary procedure FIA forwarded the cases to courts for further proceedings.
