Gul Rahman assures KP Customs Agents of improving export & import process

PESHAWAR: Frontier Customs Agents Group President Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi said that Collector Gul Rahman has assured them of improving the export and import process at the Peshawar Dry Port, Peshawar Airport and Custom Station Torkham to facilitate the business community and resolve their problems.

Talking to Customs Today, Sarhadi said that the collector has agreed to take railway administration on board for resolving the confronting issues related to railway and dry port. He said that they have apprised the collector of the problems being faced by the exporters and clearing agents at various stations.

He added that the collector has reiterated to resolve the issues with mutual understanding and dialogue to facilitate the stakeholders. He said that issues related to bonded carriers, export through private trucks, installation of scanning machines at Peshawar Dry Port and other matters related to increasing the working hours of The National Bank were discussed.

The collector agreed with the recommendation of the community and assured that time of cargo of Shaheen Airline will be increased and additional requirements of the FBR at the airport and dry port will be cancelled to facilitate the importers and exporters.
