Gwadar ASO seizes 100 tyres of luxury vehicles

KARACHI: The Gwadar Model Customs Collectorate has seized a huge quantity of tyres of luxury vehicles during a successful raid in the area of Jawar Khan and arrested two suspects.

Collector Saeed Akram received information that some elements were planning to smuggle non-duty paid tyres from out of the city. On this, the collector informed the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and instructed them to curb the smuggling. The ASO team set up check-posts at main entry and exit points of the Jawar Khan and started checking vehicles.

During the checking of vehicles, the team intercepted a suspicious truck. During the checking of the truck the team recovered 100 tyres of luxury truck. The team asked the driver to produce legal documents of the tyres but he was failed to produce any customs clearance documents. The customs officials seized while two persons were arrested at the time of action. ASO officials said that the estimated value of seized tyres is more than Rs1 million.
