Customs collects Rs 300.11m in Gwadar

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Gwadar has collected an amount of Rs 300.11 million in share of customs duty (CD), sales tax, federal excise duty (FED) and withholding tax (WHT) in the month of July-2014.

According to the statistics, the Collectorate of Gwadar has collected an amount of Rs 58.87 million in share of CD in the first month of fiscal year 2014-15 with an increase of 363 per cent as compared to July 2013.

The Collectorate has collected an amount of Rs219.62million in share of Sales Tax in the month of July 2014 with an increase of 100 per cent as compared to the revenue collection in July-2013, as the Collectorate did not collect even a single penny in share of Sales Tax in the month of July 2013.

The Gwadar Collectorate has collected no amount in share of FED in the month of July-2014 with difference of 100per cent as compared to the revenue collection in the month of July 2013, as the Collectorate grabbed an amount of Rs 0.24 million in share of FED in July 2013.

It has collected a sum of Rs 21.62 million in share of WHT in the month of July 2014 with a decrease of 54 per cent in comparison with the revenue collection in share of WHT in July 2013, as the Collectorate clinched an amount of Rs47.14million in share of WHT in July 2013.

It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR has set revenue target for the Collectorate of Gwadar in share of Customs Duty, FED, Sales Tax and WHT. The Collectorate will have to collect revenue of Rs 379.18 million in share of Customs Duty in Fiscal Year 2014-15; Rs 2079.47 million in share of Sales; Rs 6.68 million in share of FED and Rs 812.88 million in share of WHT during the FY 2014-15.
