KARACHI: Gwadar Customs collected 78 per cent more revenue than the target set for the first quarter in fiscal year 2016-17.
The collectorate collected Rs 5.524 billion against the set target of Rs 3.103 billion during July-September FY 2016-17. This collection is 119 percent more than the revenue collection of the corresponding period of the previous year 2015-16 as the Gwadar Customs collected Rs2.519 billion in July-September 2015-16.
A comprehensive strategy coupled with the strong anti-smuggling measures against non-duty paid and contraband items materialized into surpassing the revenue collection target.
