Gwadar Customs confiscates radiators, vehicle-paints on actionable secret info

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar has seized vehicle-radiators and vehicle-paints worth Rs5.20million on Tuesday.

Sources told reporter that Deputy Collector Gwadar received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle said items from Gwadar into Karachi.

He constituted a raiding team of the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Yousuf Ali Khan and others. The team, during a search operation in Highway, intercepted a truck bearing registration No: GBA-8362.

During the search operation, the team impounded 150 luxury vehicle-radiators and 200 boxes of vehicle-paints priced at Rs5.20million. The team took into possession all the smuggling items and arrested two smugglers.

Source said investigation is going on from the held persons. After investigation, an FIR will be lodged against the smugglers.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs Collectorate Gwadar has impounded non-duty-paid smuggled items worth Rs6.48million.
